Below are the entry requirements for Spain. Please note these are fluid and can change with little notice. Please see above and note the “last updated” date. You will also find a link(s) to the most up-to-date information which we encourage you to review the week prior to travel. The following information applies to those with a Canadian passport and who are fully vaccinated. If this does not apply to you, please contact your Travel Advisor.

Most travelers from Canada with proof of full COVID-19 vaccination can enter Spain, but there are restrictions.

COVID-19 testing

No proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for vaccinated travellers

Vaccinated travellers with a valid certificate are not required to have a negative COVID-19 test result before travelling to Spain. Vaccinated travellers without EU Digital COVID Certificate or EU equivalent are required to fill in the mandatory health form before departure. VISA REQUIREMENTS

No visa required

DOCUMENTS YOU NEED FOR YOUR TRIP

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Travellers must present a certificate showing they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Travellers must have received their last dose at least 14 days before arrival in Spain and no more than 270 days before their arrival. Vaccines accepted are those approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and by the WHO. Travellers aged 18 years and older with a vaccine certificate showing that their last dose was administered more than 270 days ago must also show a certificate proving a booster vaccination has been administered. These certificates will be considered valid since the day the booster dose was administered. Travellers aged between 12 to 18 years are considered vaccinated even if 270 days have passed since the last dose without having received the booster dose. Travellers who are eligible for the EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate or equivalent may use it to present proof. The United Kingdom’s COVID-19 vaccination record is also accepted. Travellers who do not have the EU Digital COVID Certificate or EU equivalent certificate from these countries Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Benin, Cabo Verde, Colombia, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Israel, Iceland, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Panama, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Uruguay, Vietnam, and Vatican City are required to complete the SPTH Health Control Form manually and enter the data of their vaccination, recovery or a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result. A valid recovery certificate must be issued at least 11 days after the first positive COVID-19 test result and up to a maximum of 180 days. It must have been performed by healthcare professionals. Details and exemptions
This requirement does not apply to:
-Travellers in transit, as long as the transit lasts less than 24 hours and does not leave the international zone;
-Travellers under the age of 12;
-Travellers arriving from France by land.

Mandatory health control form for travellers without EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent
Travellers who do not have EU Digital COVID Certificate or EU equivalent must complete the SPTH Health Control Form before departure to Spain and present their QR code before boarding and upon arrival. The traveller will be required to enter the data of your vaccination or recovery of infection. Please check “Mandatory proof of vaccination” for more details.

Masks are mandatory in certain settings
Travellers are required to wear masks on public transportation and in health centers and social health centers.
