Itinerary*

Wednesday October 10

Late morning arrival at Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. After collecting our luggage, we will have a meet and greet at arrivals with our private guide. We will transfer by coach to Belvedere Kondiaronk and Belvedere Camilien-Houde, two charming viewpoints of Montreal and a great introduction to the city. We will stop along the way at the famous Montreal-style bagel bakery, Baguel St. Viateur, located in the Mile End neighbourhood. This afternoon, as an introduction to Montreal through its art - enjoy an intimate, exclusive viewing and cocktail reception at Salon de Peintures, a private house. Following this, we will check into our hotel, Le St. Martin Hotel Particulier, in the heart of Montreal’s vibrant downtown area. We will meet at L’armonate for a welcome dinner and wine. D

Thursday October 11
After breakfast, we head to the Museum of Fine Arts where we will enjoy a private visit of Alexander Calder’s inventive sculptural artworks. After the visit, discover the permanent collection of the museum at your own pace. We will stop to have lunch at Les beaux-arts restaurant. This afternoon, we will explore Montreal’s Golden Square Mile with a private guided tour by coach and on foot. Since the 19th Century, the Golden Square Mile has been synonymous with wealth and affluence; spacious mansions, department stores, university pavilions, luxury hotels, museums and more. This outdoor tour presents the architecture of the neighbourhood and the history of the people who lived there. It has since become central to the excitement of downtown, mixing historic charm with cultural gems. We will follow the tour with a private visit of the McCord Museum, before being dropped of at the hotel. The balance of the day and evening at leisure. B

Friday October 12
After breakfast we will journey to Old Montreal for a private, guided walking tour. We’ll visit Bonsecours Market, Clock Tower, Old Port, Place Jacques Cartier, Saint Paul Street, Place Royal and Old Seminary St. Sulpice. We will stop for an optional lunch at Le Bourlingeur. Afterword we will have a private guided visit of the permanent exhibition at the Museum of History Pointe à Callière. We will follow this with a private visit of the Notre Dame Basilica; a complete 60-minute tour that gives us access to private areas of the Basilica, including the 2nd balcony and part of the crypt. Following the tour, we will attend the fabulous AURA light-show spectacle at the Basilica. Transfer back to the hotel. Dinner on own and evening at leisure. B

Saturday October 13
After enjoying breakfast at our hotel, we will head out to visit the murals and art galleries from Boulevard St. Laurent to the Mile-End with our private guide. With art festivals throughout the year, including MURAL Festival, Montreal is becoming known for its urban art that perfectly captures the ambiance, culture and community of this vivid city. Focusing mainly on the St-Laurent Boulevard axis and taking intriguing detours in surrounding streets and alleys, this colourful visit will allow you to admire some of the most lively and creative Montréal murals while highlighting the talent of the artists and collectives behind them. We will have a private visit to the studio of Emmanuel Laflamme, a local street artist. We’ll meet Emmanuel and learn about his art. We will also visit Centre Clark. Lunch and afternoon is on your own to shop and explore. We will meet for our farewell dinner and raise our glasses to new friends and fabulous art. Several shows will be recommended by the guide including Les Grands Ballets Canadiens Lady Chatterley’s Lover. BD

Sunday October 14
Following breakfast, we will checkout. We will transfer by coach to the Atwater Market - an icon of the city since its opening in 1933. Year round there are a diverse range of merchants, caterers and specialty boutiques selling meats, fish, baked goods and fine foods. We will have a foody tour of the market allowing us to taste different local products. Lunch at market. Transfer to airport early afternoon to catch our flight back to Halifax. B

(iii) being denied access to aircraft due to contravening the airlines conditions of
carriage;
(iv) the traveller missing flight connections or departures or failing to follow instructions
of tour representatives.
