Itinerary – Heritage Tour of Ireland May 2025

Day 1 • Tues. May 6:
Depart Moncton on AC1503 @ 11:40 AM and arrive in Toronto @ 12:59 PM. Depart Toronto on AC800 @ 8:35 PM and arrive Dublin at 8:15 AM on May 7.

Day 2 • Wed. May 7:
Experience a wee bit of Dublin before heading to the distant past; touring NEWGRANGE. Drive on. DINNER TOGETHER and overnight at the HILLGROVE HOTEL in MONAGHAN.

Day 3 • Thurs. May 8:
Visit Monaghan and environs with Brian’s lead then shop and tour the town on your own. Regroup for DINNER TOGETHER and relax at HILLGROVE HOTEL, MONAGHAN.

Day 4 • Fri. May 9:
Day trip to Belfast. Tour TITANIC MUSEUM and sites in Belfast. Have a great sleep at HILLGROVE HOTEL, MONAGHAN.

Day 5 • Sat. May 10:
En route Southeast visit STROKESTOWN FAMINE MUSEUM (where many stayed before leaving for Quebec in the 1840’s), drive to town of Athenry, arrive in Galway. Visit various city sites. DINNER and overnight at the IMPERIAL HOTEL, GALWAY.

Day 6 • Sun. May 11:
Check out the Spanish Arches, Eire Square, shops and docks. Galway on a Friday night! Doesn’t come much better than that! Overnight at the IMPERIAL HOTEL, GALWAY.

Day 7 • Mon. May 12:
It’s a coach day as we travel through the music town of Doolin, walk along the CLIFFS OF MOHER, step on Lehinch Beach, and drive to Limerick. Sleep well at the fancy SAVOY HOTEL in LIMERICK.

Day 8 • Tues. May 13:
Onward we go for a quick stop in the pretty cottage town of Adare then we head out to Killarney. Visit the town and area then join for DINNER TOGETHER. Don’t miss out on the live entertainment in the lounge. Dream big now at the KILLARNEY LAKE HOTEL, KILLARNEY.

DAY 9 • Wed. May 14:
Drive to another popular town, Kenmare. Visit the large stone circle here. It dates to the Bronze Age (2,200-500 BC). Shop and have a snack in this charming town. Now for the Ring of Kerry. Off we go! Walk into the interesting ruins Muckross Abbey as we go ‘over in Killarney’ for an amazing concert “CELTIC STEPS” at the Gleneagle INEC Arena. Sleep with the fairies at KILLARNEY LAKE HOTEL, KILLARNEY.

Day 10 • Thurs. May 15:
Today we travel some ancestral lands of Can. immigrants. Walk Daly’s Bridge over the River Lee as we enter Cork city. Visit the award-winning and internationally important GLUCKSMAN MUSEUM at UCC. We have DINNER TOGETHER (after a swim?) in our fabulous accommodations, the MARYBOROUGH HOTEL AND SPA, CORK.

Day 11 • Fri. May 16:
Southwest Co Cork offers some of the most scenic driving in the country and we will experience it as we meander the towns of our forefathers; Kinsale, Timoleague, Kilbrittain, Skibbereen – the ones that are most significant to you! OLD HEAD OF KINSALE is a MUST. The Lusitania sank here in 1914. Relax again at the MARYBOROUGH HOTEL AND SPA in CORK CITY .

Day 12 • Sat. May 17:
Go east thru Midleton (see Choctaw Monument). Quick stops along the way to Carlow. Stroll in the luscious green gardens and have DINNER at our breathtaking WOODFORD DOLMAN HOTEL, CARLOW.

Day 13 • Sun. May 18:
Visit Glendalough en route to Dublin. Tour GUINNESS STOREHOUSE. WOW! You are free to eat at any of the spots in Dublin. Check out the famous Temple Bar region!! We rest tonight west of Dublin at LEIXLIP MANOR AND GARDENS HOTEL, ST. Catherine’s Park, DUBLIN.

Day 14 • Mon. May 19:
Tour sites, parks and neighbourhoods of Dublin City with Brian. Walk to iconic places such as the National Museum, Grafton St., Dublin Castle etc. with Mary Anne. You can browse on your own and find a spot for supper, pack your bags and meet the gang for a farewell gathering tonight. We leave early on Sunday, so rest up again at LEIXLIP MANOR & GARDENS HOTEL, DUBLIN.

Day 15 • Tues. May 20:
We must be at the airport at 7:00 AM. Depart Dublin on AC801 @ 9:50 AM and arrive in Toronto @ 11:55 AM. Depart Toronto on AC1502 @ 2:15 PM and arrive in Moncton at 5:17 PM.

Price quoted is per person, based on double occupancy, and is subject to change in case of adverse currency fluctuation. Includes flights, meals as per itinerary and all excursions. Single supplement: + $1190 CDN. Land only: $4,824 per person. A deposit of $250 per person is due at time of booking (first come, first served). Deposit is fully refundable if tour does not occur.
