An Interview With Lisa Yetman

How many years have you been selling travel?

I have been selling travel now for 20 years with LeGrow's Travel.

What are your hobbies?

I love walking, I'm not a track walker, as long as there is scenery around me I can walk for hours.  I like anything associated with outside, camping, canoing, hiking.  I also enjoy reading and having a good game of pool.

What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?

I like some resort activities, my favorite is probably sea kayaking.  Windsurfing and snorkelling are a little too adventurous  for me at this point in life.  I also love to relax on the beach, not in the sun, but in a nice shady area to read.  Pool lounging is not so much for me, I like swimming in the pool but I would rather lounge on the beach.  Swimming in the ocean, jumping with the waves, makes me feel like a kid again...but not too far out, I tend to get a little paranoid when my feet can't touch bottom anymore.

What are your favorite destinations?

My favorite destination so far would have to be Panama.  Panama City is just beautiful, nothing like I expected to see, it can actually  be compared to New York.  The rain forest in Panama is really something else, I did an excursion to a remote part of the rain forest to visit a community that lives off the land, literally.  It was like stepping into National Geographic.  At the same time Panama also offers beautiful beach resorts.  It is a very diverse destination with so many different sites to see.  Paradise Island, in the Bahama's was my next favorite.  The food was the best I've tasted out of all the resorts I have been to.  Nassau was very clean with no fear of walking around town to see the culture.  Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was a very exciting destination.  Long stretches of boardwalk along the ocean, with shops and bars on the other side.  A good party destination.  I really liked Cruising, seeing so many different places in one vacation was nice.  Varadero, Cuba was interesting.  The sightseeing tour into Havana was a good way to see their way of life and culture.  Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic was mainly for relaxation.  I did do an interesting jeep tour which allowed me to see inside some of the locals homes, very humble and eye opening.  I liked Florida, who doesn't like Disney?  I found that Miami was very fast, to me it was ok for a night or two while waiting to do a cruise from Miami's cruise port.  My dream is to visit Africa... maybe someday!

What languages do you speak?

English only, with a very very basic idea of the french dialect.

Do you have a family? and if so what type of family travel have you done?

I have a daughter, Leah who is eight years old and a son, Keaton who is two.  With such a young family I haven't had opportunity to do any family travel yet.
